Originally from Seattle, Washington, Stewart now lives in Washington, DC.
In 2012, Stewart was awarded first Prize in the international Costco photo contest out of over 22,000 entries. A few months later she was also chosen as a finalist in the Smithsonian Magazine photo contest out of over 66,000 entries.
